Best FM Transmitter I've Tried
I've had experience with 4 different brands/models of these, and this one is by far the best. Strong clear signal. The only negative is the oversized iPod-like control panel. For something that you mostly set and forget, it is really overkill.
Still, I highly recommend this product-it is reasonably priced and works perfectly.

Great product - Coby CA-745 Wireless FM Car Transmitter
Small, compact works great! Love the simple design and it is less bulky than the previous one we had. Would reccommend this product to anyone who is looking for a wireless FM car transmitter.

It works, but the FM signal is too weak.
The device works as described. However, there is a major drawback: the received FM signal is very weak, and I have to turn up the volume of my car radio very high. When I drive on highway, I have to turn up the volume to the full scale. Doing so causes a lot of problems: including high circuit noise and I will hear huge interfere sounds when I touch the buttons of the device.

The radio antenna of my car is in the front. The situation may be improved if the antenna is in the back of the car. I believe that if there are no metal frame/sheets in the path between the device and antenna the received FM signal will be much stronger.

Also, I suspect that other FM car transmitters of this kind would have the same issue in my car: weak received FM signal.

Great product
Don't have a whole lot to say other then the quality is fantastic even with my powerplug being over 3 feet away from my radio. Definitely the best wireless transmitter i've bought so far (had last few stolen or broken) and i really like that there's a plug-in slot on the front to insert your phone charger or an mp3 charger, so you're not giving up your a/c plug just for your transmitter. I will buy another should this one get stolen :-p

Did Not Work
The CA-745 worked for about 30 seconds & then refused to turn on again. I purchased it because of the price. It also looked cheap - the face was scratched & peeling. I returned it and purchased the Griffin iTrip FM Transmitter for Sansa, which I am very happy with. Also note - The CA-745 has a large unit/plug sticking out from the power outlet in the dashboard, (others like the iTrip are separated by a wire)I could not plug it in or easily access it when my car was in park because the shifter is right in front of the plug in my dashboard (Nissan Pathfinder)

Belkin F8M010
They have dumped a lot of transmission power out of these. If you are not close, try to find an older one of the same model. Outherwisw it functions great.

belkin fm tuners
I use the Belkins 2 since it came out and now the Belkin3, I find being in between Phil and Trenton NJ and having powerful radio stations up the butt, still can find channels that i can hear quite well. Static comes from the radio station on the same channel over riding the belkin. Since i only like my music on MP3 i took off my outside antennae and I use the belkins and get zero noise and very clear reception, Since i like my mp# songs better than what i hear on radio. taking off antenna stops all the station interference, does work great that way. Very solid sound that way

No more ear buds!
I am 58 years old, so still attempting to be tech savy. Love my ipod shuffle, but hate the ear buds (old ears). The Tunecast makes it possible to enjoy my tunes on any FM receiver both in the car and at home. Great quality on my old FM tuner/amp. I live in a small town outside of a major urban area and have no problem finding a clear spot on the FM dial.

Not good at all.
I think the other reviews should give you a good idea what to expect. After going up and down the frequencies, I was never able to find a place where this would come through very well and returned it the next day.

It depends on the car stereo!
This product is great if you pair it with a quality radio. On a basic american junk radio (comes with a Ford or a Chevy) it won't work. In my BMW it is perfect. So, a lot depends on your radio. Of course it needs a clear channel. If you want a strong, fool proof FM transmitter, get the scoshe ones, those are amazingly strong and work with your junk car without any static.

It works
This did the trick for me. The modification in NC "NC"'s review was very helpful. I am able to get reception all the way out in my car if i need to. The Variable resister in my model was blue ( unlike the white one in the picture.)

Read this before you return it!
I thought this was the worst thing out there even after the mod. I was going to return it. It couldn't even go 15ft straight line without a lot of static. Until I realized my source volume was to high. It over loaded the unit and you hear lots of static. There is a small red light next to the FM station if the red light is on your source is too high turn it down or turn down the input volume on the side of the unit. IT WORKED Great after that. Try this before you return it.

So cool!
I was reluctant to buy this. But, with the level adjustment, it works really, really well!

Thanks, NC, for posting the hack.

6 years of great use!
I've tried most of the FM transmitters and this one by far has the most versatility, particularly when you extend the range by tweaking the power pot. I've used it both in my home and in a variety of vehicles.

But I have to confess that I now use the iRiver for my vehicles since it powers off the lighter power source. But the iRiver is a bit touchy in setting the frequency and I suspect the range is a bit lacking when comparied to the CCrane unit.

Range about 1 m (3 ft)
I tested all tuners I have at home, some VERY sensitive and receiving stations from 60 miles away. Range of this unit in best case was about 1 meter (3 ft). Returned to Amazon the same day I got it
