Customer Reviews

Static induced cord
The FM transmitter for the first week worked great. Now, every time I touch the cord, the audio turns all static.

I would pay more next time for a better rated, higher quality product.

Works great
I bought one of these for my husband to use with his MP3 player about nine months ago. It has worked great. It's easy to use and the sound is clear and strong. I recently bought another one for my sister. For the price, I don't think you can go wrong.

Disappointed
The item sent to me was a very old one, though I orded a new one. It works, but the quality of the music was very poor and made me uncomfortable.

It really works.
I bought this to listen to my mp3 player in my car. It was a difficult choice, because some FM Transmitters seem to get bad reviews. I'm glad I chose this one, because it has worked perfectly for me. No static. Very easy to configure, with the little screen that shows the FM frequency. I'd recommend it. (I use it to listen to podcasts/lectures, so I haven't tested its fidelity with music other than that old Jingle Bells recording made by barking dogs, which sounded just fine using this device.)

Easy Way To Go Wireless
This Coby wireless FM adapter is one fast and easy and very inexpensive way to have your MP3 player play its music through your car speakers.... So easy to set up and use. Just tune the adapter to the same FM frequency. I use the fist setting on my car stereo since that is what always comes up first on the adapter. I save that channel on my car stereo so all I have to do is plug in the adapter and turn on my car stereo and the channels match right from the git go............ Its very easy to set up and use......

Customer Reviews

Disappointing piece of junk!
How do I even begin? I had such high hopes for this but was frustrated. The sound quality varies depending on where you drive, where you put it in the car and especially sounds bad when you first start the car, for no reason at all! No matter where you place it in the car, all you hear is just static! Please don't waste your money on this trash!

Should have bought another Tunecast II instead of the III
I had a Belkin Tunecast II that I wore out after three years (it turns out that you really are supposed to pull the phono jack out of your iPod by the plug and not the jack's cord if you want the two to stay connected). So, I bought the Tunecast III thinking that it would be an improvement over the older version. Before buying, I determined that the III did not have the recharging capabilities of the II but I was hopeful that I could use the II's power cord on the III.

After two months of having the III, I regret my purchase and wish I had bought another II. You would think that a newer version of a product would be better than the older one, but in this case, the III is a step backward. I got a much stronger signal out of the II, which is the main reason for a transmitter, right?

Another way that the II was better was that it would automatically turn on when I started my iPod, and it would power off when I stopped my iPod. With the III, you have to turn it on and off manually.

I was correct in my guess that the III would not recharge my iPod. However, the cord from my II works on the III, so that is not a problem for me.

Overall, if I were you I would buy the Tunecast II.

Belkin F8M010
They have dumped a lot of transmission power out of these. If you are not close, try to find an older one of the same model. Outherwisw it functions great.

belkin fm tuners
I use the Belkins 2 since it came out and now the Belkin3 (The belkin 2 was better), I find being in between Phil and Trenton NJ and having powerful radio stations everywhere, still can find channels that i can hear quite well. Static comes from the radio station on the same channel over riding the belkin. Since i only like my music on MP3 i took off my outside antennae and I use the belkin 2 and get zero noise and very clear reception,

No more ear buds!
I am 58 years old, so still attempting to be tech savy. Love my ipod shuffle, but hate the ear buds (old ears). The Tunecast makes it possible to enjoy my tunes on any FM receiver both in the car and at home. Great quality on my old FM tuner/amp. I live in a small town outside of a major urban area and have no problem finding a clear spot on the FM dial.

Customer Reviews

Works great (after the mod)
I bought this as a Christmas present for my dad. He likes to listen to streaming internet radio and wanted the ability to hear it throughout the house, not just on his computer speakers. I was going to buy either the C. Crane transmitter or the FM Whole House Transmitter. I chose the C. Crane mainly on price ( vs. 0) but I also liked the ability to tune the station full dial. The downside was that I would probably have to open that case and void the warranty to make the hardware mod to get it to work.
I gave it a trial run without the hardware mod. The reception was very poor. I chose to open the case instead of removing the label since I wanted it to be 'new' on Christmas day. After making the hardware mod I tried it again. WOW. What a difference! My dad was thrilled with this. Clear reception on every radio in the house.
My recommendation is to open the case to make the hardware mod instead of removing the label. It's not difficult and if done carefully there are no signs that the case was ever opened.

Baby Monitors go farther!
Don't waste your money! I have been a FM hobby broadcaster (neighborhood broadcasting) for years. I'll take a Ramsey FM 100 B any day. Even after trying all modifications available on the internet, extending the anntena with a new piece of antenna attached, and various other "tricks" I found only a minor increase in range even after putting it on the second floor. The volume, even after adjusting the volume knob, is not nearly loud enough (or even close to other FM station) on our stereo, clock radios, or even the car radio in the garage.

Our FCC certified baby monitors go 5 times farther with a louder signal.

I don't think asking for 100 feet of coverage to cover a regular city home & lot is asking too much! But with this C Crane transmitter, it is!

C. Crane very nice but
This transmitter is great but you have to increase the range of the signal to be of any use. Peal back the label on the back, insert a small jeweler type flat head screw driver and turn it all the way up, (right I believe).

I got this for a family member that is hard of hearing and now I can listen to the TV at a conformable level.

Very Nice FM Transmitter for both Home and Car
I purchased the c.crane transmitter a few weeks ago and thus far am very satisfied with it. Although I bought it specifically for use in my car, It has quickly proven to be very useful in the house as well. I also purchased the optional mobile accessory kit from c.crane's website, which is very handy considering the transmitter is really designed to sit on a flat surface. If you are having trouble finding a low-priced, powerful, FM transmitter for use in your car, I highly recommend this product. Another tidbit of advise: If you are having trouble finding an unused frequency in your area, check out www.radio-locator.com. Just enter the zip code you are in and a list of local frequencies come up in order of best(unused), next best and third best. Good luck!

Great Product
I've used the CCrane FM transmitter for about 4 years and it worked great right out of the box (i.e., no modifications needed) and was received on a variety of FM radios throughout my house. Extremely simple to set up. I used two competing products prior to this, and am far happier with this one. I often listen to programs sent from my laptop to a shower radio at a distance of approximately 50'. I can't imagine the problem the folks are having who say it only transmits a few feet, unless perhaps it's a failure to adjust the volume wheel which is somewhat hidden on the side of the small transmitter's case. The position of that wheel has a huge effect on the resulting sound and it must be adjusted, just as you would expect with any volume knob. I will also suggest that for those who value this listening option and want to make it work, a quality radio with a decent antenna to receive the FM signal will also help. As an example, I often use an inexpensive portable shortwave radio because of it's superior receiving capabilities, as well as its portability. But I have also used this product with my inexpensive home stereo to listen to music coming from my laptop and the product also handles this task nicely. One final thought ... CCrane products are largely aimed at serious radio enthusiasts and techies (check their website) and are good quality and often strikingly innovative; they are not junk by any means, as some of the reviews here might lead you to believe.
